This is the latest “save the planet” uptake. The claim–which seems reasonable–is that a significant amount of energy is used by all the equipment around the world in a standby mode, such as receivers with their little red LED.
So, these plugs will NOT do anything for computers except turn them off 100% as though you’ve pushed the power button in, unplugged the cord, and pushed the power button again.
