Can a Cat5 patch panel be used when wiring a home using Cat6? I just obtained an old, but never used, Cat5 48 port patch panel, and was wondering if I could wire up Cat6 to it and not experience any performance loss. From my Googling, it would seem that the wiring scheme is the same (568A), so my theory is that as long as I use Cat6 cable to wire the house to the patch panel (following the 568A scheme), it should work just fine… shouldn’t it? :-\
