Im now gonna start biulding my 3rd HTPC, but need some advice still.
This one needs to be super cheap, but still play HD disks.
Been reading reviews and think im set on a AMD AM2 Athlon 64 4400 + Windsor Core, Dual Core 2.3GHz, 2x 512KB Cache, Energy Eff” Retail for the cpu.
I appreciate the intels spank them (Ihave an e6300 in my HTPC) but Im thinking of sticking to AMD because of the AMD 690G mainboards!
Would the 4400+ Dual Core and the AMD 690G playback 1080i BD/HD-DVD with a good quality picture and [b]ZERO[/b] stutter?
Anyone running a similar setup to my proposed one?
Im also looking at the 450W Corsair VX Series PSU, is it any good?
I currently have these spare parts to use in it:
hd-dvd 360 drive
160 gb hdd
2gb drr2 GEIL 800mhz RAM
Silverstone L11 – think thats the right number.
