I’ve been contemplating a build, but I’ve been poking around with a Dell that I have (P4 3.4Ghz, 1G RAM, ATI x300 video card, iirc).
Just bought a Hauppauge 850 USB tuner, and while I’ve tried all the suggestions on their instruction sheet, I’m getting some video stutter in the HD content I’ve recorded. I’m guessing it’s hardware related and I was wondering if a newer video card – and maybe some RAM – might do the trick to clear the stutter?
The HTPC is a bit down the road, so if a new video card might do it, any suggestions on a card that would do the trick for now and work in a new build would be much appreciated.
