I’ve seen a few posts/early reviews talking about PC combo drives but nothing more details on how well it functions in practice after months of using. I’m not even certain they’re available for a decent price right now. I’m curious if anyone has one of these beasts or at least I’d like to get come thoughts on where this front stands at the moment and if its not there yet, when we’ll forget about single format drives in PCs.
I realize the xbox HD-DVD drive is the best current option for PC users, and maybe I’ll go that route, but it would be nice to have a single combo drive installed cleanly into my HTPC case instead of having to buy two separates drives(at least one of them external). I’m itching to upgrade to HD movies in the coming months and have hoped to do this over Christmas break if possible.
