I need help from htpc experts on using mce with Satellite tv. My question is, what is the best way to set up my htpc to record a dish signal? Do I use their DVR for HD and my mce box for OTA HD and SDtv from the satellite box via s-video? Do I need two receivers
I’m about to pull the trigger on Dish network because I can get a deal with 200 channels and 33 HD channels for the same amount that I’m currently paying for basic cable. The Dish package includes the VIP 622 HD DVR which has two tuners (one HD and one limited to 480i) with hdmi out for HD and composite or s-video out for the standard def signal.
Does anyone have first hand experience or resources to help me plan the best mce/htpc and Dish Satellite system?
