How is this in any way beneficial to me the consumer? They say that it will allow the studios to bring movies to the home faster. So what? Why do I care if I have to wait another month to get the movie on Blu-Ray? I’ve survived this long.
There are only two reasons that I can think of that studios would want to bring movies to the home faster:
1) Sales profits
2) Prevent people from turning to piracy to get their movies sooner (see #1)
