Sorry – should have said try building the graph out side of sage to look like this:

use:
SageTV FileSource -> SageTV Stream Demuxer -> MS Decoder -> EVR
-> ffdshow audio decoder -> DirectSoundOctober 14, 2010 at 12:13 pm #28442Ahh… ok. I’ll give that a shot when I get home today.
BTW, for those like me who keep forgetting, we have a guide explaining your bitstreaming options. It details what certain hardware is capable of, including pointing out the fact that my 4xxx series card does not do bitstreaming. ;D
October 14, 2010 at 2:13 pm #28443Added a section on QAM setup. Very similar to ATSC setup, just need to tell Sage to use as a cable tuner with a digital cable EPG.
October 14, 2010 at 2:23 pm #28444Andy,
You mention in the article that you’ll be prompted for a license every time you start up. I’m guessing this is only the case for a fresh install and not for a licensed version 6 which was upgraded to v7, since mine is not doing this. I kind of wish it would, so that I didn’t have to keep track of when it’s due to expire. 🙂
October 14, 2010 at 2:46 pm #28445Yes – that was for new installs.
V6 -> V7 upgrades should have to enter an upgrade key when they start up as well (I think the process is the same, but it’s been a long time since I did the upgrade on my server).
I’ll probably start seeing the prompt after the 21 days is up, which I believe is next Friday… quite a coincidence, actually. That’s good, since I won’t have to try and figure out how to re-enter a license key.
I tried, but mine came out looking like this:

I noticed how yours has more connectors for the SageTV Stream Demuxer, but mine has more on the MKV. It won’t even let me make the connection from the MKV to the SageTV Stream Demuxer.
October 14, 2010 at 9:06 pm #28448Don’t add or render the file. You have a MKV source filter (Haali?) mucking things up, and Sage doesn’t give it’s filters merits that work with IC.
When you build the graph do it all by hand – start with a blank graph and add the filters in the order I laid them out (left to right) starting with the “SageTV FileSource”.
October 14, 2010 at 9:36 pm #28449I assume you mean everything but the x.264.DTS-HD.mkv, right? If not, I’ve got no idea where to get that from. Assuming I am to skip that, when I add the SageTV Stream Demuxer, I still only get the one connector. Adding the rest, nothing changes from the screenshot I just uploaded.
October 14, 2010 at 9:39 pm #28450Nope – x.264.DTS-HD.mkv is the SageTV FileSource, you need to add that filter manually first.
October 16, 2010 at 8:00 pm #28451Updated the guide for LPCM/FLAC in MKV.
Change:
Allow AC3Filter to accept “PCM” audio and more strongly suggest merit change.
October 17, 2010 at 4:23 pm #28452I had no need for HD audio So I didn’t install FFDSHOW. I did install arcsoft codec but I don’t see a the VC1 option in the sage property file?
October 17, 2010 at 7:08 pm #28453The option is only created when you play a file with VC1, but you can add it proactively.
October 18, 2010 at 12:55 pm #28454I contacted SageTV about my issue and they pointed me to the recently updated .ax file. I swapped that out and it fixed some other things, but I still can’t get PCM working. I uninstalled AC3Filter and set ffdshow to “AC3 (S/PDIF encode mode)” and that got audio playing back, but the receiver is showing DD or stereo, which means that PCM isn’t being sent from the computer, since I’ve seen the receiver say PCM in the past.
I’m really considering just updating my videocard to get bitstreaming working, since that seems to be less troublesome.
October 18, 2010 at 1:53 pm #28455Do you have a link to the updated file?
If you have ffdshow encode audio it will handle PCM and output AC3.
