It won’t be implemented until 2011 which makes Windows XP and Server 2003 10 and 8 years old (respectively) by then.
If you just added a new drive as storage on a WHS box, I doubt you’ll notice. Obviously if it was the boot drive on an XP based desktop you’d care. But if it can run Windows 7, just move to Windows 7. Or if the machine is too old to run Windows 7, it is rather unlikely you’d be bothering to stick a new 2TB drive in it.
The gains for all other modern OSes will be nice. This especially can help certain SSDs based on a few common controllers.
