Need some advice on a new hard drive before installing Windows 7. I have 2 PC’s to install Win 7 on, and I want a new, larger hard drive for each. My original plan was to buy 2 1TB internal hard drives and install one in each PC and be done with it. But I’ve been considering getting an external for the HTPC and leaving the existing hard drive for the OS. In the HTPC, I have a WD 250gb SATA hard drive and an Iomega 500gb USB hard drive. I don’t really want to undo my cables and pull my case out and install a hard drive. The case isn’t the easiest to work with. I think I’m just looking for someone to agree with me and tell me that it’s just as well to go with the external drive. The only thing that worries me is the reviews of the external drives on newegg; there’s more positive reviews of internals than externals.
