I finally got around to installing DVD software (PowerDVD 9) on my son’s MCE PC that I did a fresh install on the other month so that he could watch and record stuff. After the install I did the set up with Media Center (’05). For the videos I pointed it to my record folder on my own HTPC. But when I tried playing one of the HD (ATSC) recordings it started up like it was going to play and then just froze. So then I tried playing an SD recording and it played fine. My only thought was that the HD recording was too much, but that’s impossible. All of it is wired ethernet (10/100), and nothing else was going on at the time on the network. I’ve played HD stuff on his previous PC without problem and I also can stream it to my main PC. I tried MPC to make sure it wasn’t just the player, but it did the same thing too. Any thoughts?
