Good evening gentlemen.
In a month or so, I will build a powerful HTPC to watch HDTV satellite television. As for the specs, I know they need to be powerful as it’ll be an HDTV build with two cards, but all I can say is that most likely, the CPU will be an Intel Core 2 DUO LGA775 E6600.
As for mobo and RAM, I’ll go for 2MB of ram. Are they enough? Also please help me with the choice of mobo and ram especially for compatibility issues as I’m not THAT good with hardware :-\
For the case, I put my eyes on the Zalman HD-160 but for the case the important thing is that the VFD works in Win XP and DVBViewer which will 99% be the software I’ll use. I say so because I read somewhere that the Zalman VFD only works in MCE? In my case, the OS will be XP/Pro.
Finally, the cards, which will either be two technotrends 3200 or two FloppyDTV S2 as my objective is to be able to watch 2 channels at the same time.
Any tips will be more than appreciated, thanks 🙂
