First, here’s my configuration. I have a HTPC with a ASUS EN8600GT video card, DVI-to-HDMI converter out the PC to a receiver Integra 9.8, eventually to a Sony VW60. I have a 19″ monitor also hooked up to the PC because of the current video issues. Eventually I would like to do away with it.
Now my two issues. First, I can only get the HTPC video to display after I’ve chosen the video input on the receiver, and then I turn on the HTPC. If the PC is running, it won’t pick up the video signal. The audio it will. I’m not sure if the video card just doesn’t send the output if something isn’t waiting for it or what.
The second issue is that once I do get a display going through the receiver, I can only get a split display to work. The main display will work on my 19″ LCD, and a blank second display through the receiver. If I try and switch the displays through the video card, I have to revert back because nothing is displayed. I can drag a window from the main display over to the split display and get something to work through the receiver.
I’ve tried changing all kinds of settings and I’ve tried to look for answers, but I’ve not found something like this. Before I started to buy a new video card or anything else I thought I would ask for help first.
