OMG…got this very vague nvidkmdag error two nights ago. Did some research and it seemed to generally be related to the vid card (Nvidia, duh) or RAM. So, I go about trouble shooting..come to the conclusion that I need a new vid card. Yay! Have a MSI GE Force 7600GT right now, and it’s a BEAST, but I have a non-digital HDTV, so I’ve been dealing.
Get the new ATI card installed…adapter for the component doesn’t work, and within an hour I get ANOTHER error (atikmdag). So, I’m thinking, maybe the new RAM I just put in screwed it up?
So I have to pull up the processor cooler 5 TIMES to try different RAM configs. Finally get that straightened out, and put the new stick of 2GB in by its lonesome self, and re-installed the old Nvidia card. Testing now…this sucks…
