This is the best ever upgrade. Period.
I installed an 80GB Intel SSD into my notebook that I use at work and it has completely transformed this $500 notebook into a powerhouse.
The computer is slow. 1.5ghz Core 2 Duo. Intel 965 graphics. Vista 32 and 2GB of ram. But going from the stock 160GB fugitsu 5400 rpm drive to this thing makes it feel faster than my Q6600 @3ghz 4GB Vista 64 gaming machine. It still takes a maybe 2 min to boot and it kinda hangs on a blank blue screen during boot, but once the splash screen comes up I can launch any program I want without slowing down. it used to take forever to launch outlook after a cold boot. Now it and my other work is up in no time. Out of standby is quick and I don’t need to wait for the harddrive to thrash before I can pick up where I left off on work.
I highly suggest you get one of these or the OCZ Vertex for your work computer because it is the best thing you can install in your computer. I’ve basically spent as much on the harddrive as my PC, but it was well worth it. I went with the Intel because I thought it would be more stable, and I needed more than 60GB of space. The 120OCZ was more than this 80GB Intel. The stock drive went into a USB drive case to be used for extra storage. I can also load up a few movies on it and take my SageTV HD200 on the road for the full HD experience in hotels or my families cabin.
