I use SageTV 6 and recently recorded the San Diego/New England football playoffs game, and to my surprise when I watched it, the video stopped recording before the game was actually over (due to the game going to overtime!). I’m guessing this is due to the fact that the TV guide only says the game is 3 hours long and to stop recording after 3 hours.
Is there any functionality in any PVR software to provide intelligent recording of sports shows? Ideally, the recorder would plan to record for the 3 hours specified in the guide, but would reach out to ESPN.com or other sports websites to CONFIRM if the game is truly over. If it’s not over, SageTV shoud continue to record until ESPN.com or other sites says it’s over.
