I’m on the search for new ideas for an HTPC. Let me start with what I have and what I want.
current –
Gigabtye mobo with an older dual-core AMD 5000+ Black CPU
2GB RAM
ATI Radeon 4650 Vid card
Win7 Home Premium
SageTV Client (connected to a WHS running Sage)
Total Media Theater for local BR playback, and streaming movie from server
a few 60mm and 80mm fans for air flow, all throtled back to reduce noise, but there is still some.
That’s about all of the current. The machine sits idle 99.999% of the time.
The machine used to be my SageTV machine with all the tuners, storage, etc in it, but moved it all to a WHS a long time ago. So, I don’t need the large case, loud fans, etc… I just need some horsepower for BR playback and streaming.
What I want – Or I should say…. What I’m looking at..
a slim style PC like the ASUS EB1501
I want a smaller case, mobo, low noise, etc….
Does anyone have experience with the ASUS EB1501??? The only reveiws I can find are from the UK models and those were pre-release models.
I appreciate any help given.
