I have been converting home movie VCR tapes to DVD by setting the MCS2005 to a channel with a few hours worth of a show, putting the tape into the VCR, pressing the VCR play, then record on the MCE. Since the VCR overrides the cable signal, the tape passes through the MCE and is saved as a dvr-ms file. Roxio can convert it to DVD with ease (and I can edit with the ms-dvr editor from MSDN). This has caused the WAF to skyrocket!!
I now have a problem. I used the government access channel to record the VCR tapes, since it is set in blocks of 4 hours (the recording stops when the show’s time ends). Now, the MCE thinks I want to record 4 hours of government access every day.
To make it stranger, it is not set as a record series, but individual ones forever. To stop it, I have to delete each scheduled recording…
How do I make it all stop? Make the pain go away…
