I wonder if this has any bearing on the delay that SageTV is having with their HD extender?  Meaning that whoever the OEM is for the box ‘might’ be trying to get everything worked out before committing to final production.  That box probably doesn’t have FPGAs and seeing how it could easily be an encrypted transport issue pertaining to ‘information trust’, I can ‘see’ some hesitation (on my speculation?  :P).
