If Media Center was still a separate SKU, I would probably be more worried but since it is now part of Windows, I don’t see a reason to be concerned. Besides, based on the leak documents for Windows 8 and it’s support for “DLNA Tuners” it looks like Media Center is part of that release. So we are looking at what, at least another ten years of support between Windows 7 and Windows 8.
