This is actually quite true. Looking at standard def via a HDTV is a lot worse than through the old CRT. Then again, watching High Def through a HDTV is amazing. The problem is like taking a small low quality picture and enlarging it. Extra size may be added but you are still startinng with a low number of pixels.
