Hi Everyone,
I have some questions about the video card I will be buying for my HTPC. I want my HTPC to playback recorded HDTV (from a Tivo HD and stored on my HTPC), and Blu-Ray and HD-DVD movies (using the LG GGC-H20L optical drive).
My questions are:
1) Do I need to be a card as expensive as this one? Or is this what I need to do all the things I mentioned? (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130082)

3) Will a DVI-to-component cable adapter degrade the video? I prefer component over HDMI.
4) Do I need any special software to play the record HDTV shows or HD-DVD / Blu-Ray movies?
