Hey everybody, its been a while since I’ve posted here, but I have come across a rather annoying problem.
I did some storage revamping including replacing a drive in my HTPC with a WD SE16 750GB. Before the move, I had a directory of movies (vob’s in folders) that I could access through the videos screen of MCE05–no fancy graphics or plugins but it worked well.
I moved the movies onto the new drive and assigned the same drive letter and folder name. MCE still sees the movies and lists them all, and it can even still play them perfectly, the problem is that it takes about 5 mins for the movie to start. Before the change the movie would start almost instantly. Now MCE just locks-up on the video selection screen until the movie starts.
So far I have tried re-formatting the drive (full format, not quick) and recopying all the files, I have tried moving the movies to annother file and putting only 3 movies in the watched folder, and I have deleted and re-added the watched folder. Nothing has worked.
Anybody have any solutions or ideas?
In other news, I am still waiting for my Omaura equipment that I won in December, but never-fear, I do still plan on making good on my promise to write a omaura build-log/review once I get the swag.
