    Hello All,

I’m having some issues with trying to get the HDMI audio to work.  I can get the HDMI Video to ouput 1080P without any issues.

I can view with the DVI and Analog audio with out any issues, but the HDMI audio part is where I’m stuck.

I even went as far as purchasing the Asus SPDIF module out adapter (Pictured below).

Here are the steps I’ve taken so far…

    1.  How I have it plugged in…  I have the HDMI cable from the TV plugged directly into the HDMI port on the MSI 8500GT video card.

    2.  From the MSI 8500GT video card, there’s a SPDIF out yellow coax that goes into the Asus SPDIF module out adapter.

    3.  From the Asus SPDIF module out adapter, I have plugged the supplied cables, and plugged into the SPDIF headers on the Asus motherboard.

    4.  From Vista Ultimate, I set the audio to “Digital” mode rather than the “Speakers” mode.  I still cannot get any sound.

    5.  I went as far as using my Xbox 360’s HDMI cable which is a known working cable and source.  Used that cable and it’s same “input” on the TV.  Still no sound!

    6.  I contacted MSI and they tell me it’s not their problem (of course) and that I contact Asus.  I don’t think it’s a defective mobo.  More rather it’s an issue with some configuration.  Could be either hardware or software.  Not sure….

Below are pictures of my motherboard and video card.  I am all out of ideas!  Any suggestions?

    Thank you all in advance.
