We had a very nasty storm here in and around philly the other day. It looks like I took a direct hit at my antenna and it looks like I’m very fortunate that it didn’t fry all of my electronics. I do have some damage though. My HTPC didn’t turn on, but I was able to cannibalize a PSU from another desktop as a test and it booted fine. My 9 year old receiver isn’t putting out sound to surround speakers or the center channel, but other than that and a few power adapters not much else(TV, other desktops, Wii) is still working.
I’m in the process of filing a claim which may or may not reach my deductible depending on how they choose to handle my old RX-V596 receiver that can’t be purchased anymore. I’d rather now wait to order a new PSU for my HTPC. I had a Seasonic S12 380W in there, and its lasted a solid four years; It looks like some other manufacturers have started producing products that appear to be on par with seasonic? Any suggestions on what I might want to buy here?
