This morning I tried to update my media server, which had been a C2D 6300, with a standard definition DVD player, is built on an ASUS P5B DLX motherboard. All this in in an ANtec P180 case.
This morning I replace the CPU with a core two Quad 6600, and the standard definition DVD player with a BD DVD player.
On boot up, motherboard lights come on and all the fans begin to spin but that’s it. There are no beeps signaling an error, nor was there a blinking of the power light to signal an error. I rebooted three more times with same results.
Considering the error, my assumption is the CPU is not working. I guess the next step will be to put the original CPU back in place and see if it boots up then. But before I do that I thought I’d just post on the forum and see if anyone has any better or smarter suggestions for me.
