So the new show Castle would seem to record for me, but was playback was bad – jerky/skipping. So I finally got around to playing with the channel setup in SageTV, and noticed that on that channel my V-Box 150 got 99-100% signal strength, and my Fusion 5 gets 28-30%.
I’ve got a M780 that I’m going to drop in early next week to see how it compares, but seeing as I’m using an MCE 500 for my analog shows, and put two PVR-1600’s in a friends computer a week ago and the SDTV was great, I’m thinking of upgrading my capture cards. My current motherboard is only socket AM2, so not tri- or quad cores. It’s got 3 PCI slots and one free PCIexpress slot (That I’d put the M780 in for testing).
What I’m thinking is a new motherboard that would allow a quad core in my future, and allow either 2 or 3 combo cards (either M780 or PVR-1600 or PVR-1800 – probably the M780 based on review in the guide). My video card’s cooler takes up the slot next to it….
But then I noticed that newegg was running a special on this board:

but I’d have to switch to Intel CPUs…
Anyone have any thoughts or recommendations for a AMD motherboard?
Thanks,
Mike
