Ok, so my friend is interested in using an Nvidia card in an existing HTPC. He would like to be able to pass the 7.1 audio from Blu-Ray and HD-DVD’s respectively to his Onkyo receiver through the HDMI and not have to deal with using analog outputs.
Does Nvidia make such a beast. From what I have seen/read the 9xxx series often has a S/PDIF passthrough option available, but I have not come across a full HDMI capable card that matches the ATI 4xxx options.
I have not spent that much time looking, but I figured I could inquire from the great minds that frequent this location for such details as you all may have either encountered such a beast or may give warning to avoid such treasure hunting.
