I’ll swallow my pride and admit I watched the First set of Auditions last night. Part of the reason I think i still watch it is so I can listen to talk radio the next day just annihilate some of the contestants.
I have a hunch Steven Tyler is going to get on my nerves, but at least for one episode, I kinda liked having him on board…he actually seemed excited to see these kids trying. Same for J-Lo, and I’m far from a fan of hers.

Not in a million years. Thankfully, the wife doesn’t like reality shows either. I think we’d get a divorce. The only “reality” shows I watch are UFC (actual reality in the fights) and Pawn Stars.
January 20, 2011 at 6:22 pm #29406osburnfamilyWe (wife & I) actually STARTED watch AI just because of the new judges… And based on what we saw yesterday, we’re counting the days for the scandal to break between Steven Tyler & some (or all) of the contestants! lol
I actually thought it was a pretty good start for the new judges.

I agree, it’s an interesting twist given the fiasco’s in the past with Paula and some of the male contestants…definitely going to be some inappropriate moments 🙂 and man there were some train wrecks!
January 20, 2011 at 10:34 pm #29409autoboyI watched it, but I am not a fan of the audition shows. I like to watch from Hollywood on. I could really care less about the judges and I tend to fast forward through their responses a lot of the time. Randy and Paula and Elen were worthless judges. Steven at least was interesting last night. It’s a bit of a bummer to lose Simon, but I watched for the music and the feel good story of watching an artist develop. That part of the show will always be intact no matter who the judges are. I also like the music and on my home theater the singing can sound really good.
What was with the age of the contenstants though? I feel like we’re at a point were most of the talent has already tried out in the 9 other seasons so you’re limited to young artists who grow into the age limit.
January 20, 2011 at 11:03 pm #29410mikinhoI was going to make a smart remark and make fun of you all for admitting to watching this show. But then I remembered that I watched Jersey Shore for the first time this week and actually want to see what drama happens next so I have no room to talk….
January 20, 2011 at 11:29 pm #29411Mike GarcenAI is nowhere near as bad as jersey shore, c’mon!!
And yeah…after 9 seasons you have to wonder. Last night there was that 1 girl who came back…i guess that could be their new flavor of the show (kind of like when the UFC Ultimate Fighter show did their “comeback” series)….but i’m totally opposite than you, i am all about the Auditions and the disasters 🙂
January 21, 2011 at 12:07 am #29412autoboyIs it bad that I actually like the Millionaire Matchmaker as well? I bet you like it too and are just unwilling to man up that half your favorites are Bravo and E!
I watch some shows because my wife likes them. I’m willing to watch Cupcake Wars if it results in soft, hot, cakey, goodness every week. But, I actually do enjoy AI and my wife doesn’t. This is only my 4th season watching it so it isn’t that stale for me.
January 21, 2011 at 3:00 am #29416skirge01Wow, I’m starting to lose faith in the readership around here. J/K, everybody… mostly. 😉
January 21, 2011 at 3:42 am #29417osburnfamilyOh come on! Jersey Shore?! Really? If you put “Mike…GTL” in your tag I’m done talking to you on ALL the forums… lol 😀
January 21, 2011 at 3:56 am #29418mikinhoI guess I should be happy you put GTL instead of DTF. I’m embarrased to now know what both of thoes mean. And it was only 1 episode!
January 21, 2011 at 4:10 am #29419osburnfamilyOkay–I’ll bite. DTF? I only know GTL because of guys at the office. I’ve never seen the show! lol
January 21, 2011 at 4:23 am #29420mikinhoDown to ….
(Not something I’m proud of knowing)
January 21, 2011 at 6:25 am #29421swoonNow you’ve got me intrigued . Maybe I am missing something by not watching Jersey Shore!
January 21, 2011 at 12:07 pm #29423skirge01Going on just what I’ve heard about the show, this is what I’m thinking:
GTL? Umm… Get The Lotion? As in suntan…
DTF? Doomed To Fail?
DTF was a tough one to think of something for, so I went with how their lives seem to be turning out, according to news reports. 😉 Alternatively, how about Definite Television Fiasco?
