I have a setup of a HP Mediasmart WHS, Sage box, HD Homerun, and Hauppage 850 usb tuner. The 850 is a combo analog/digital tuner. Since there was no place to install a tuner card, the usb for analog was the only option. Playback of downloaded material is excellent as is anything recorded by the Homerun. The analog recordings however, suffer from serious sound lag vs the video. A show will start out just fine but within minutes, the sound is lagging. The differential becomes greater and greater as the show continues. As an example, by the end of a basketball game, the announcers will be at least 2 plays behind the one I am watching. 🙂
I don’t have much idea how to fix this. Is it simply needing a better analog tuner? and if so, any recommendations since I have the digital covered with the Homerun and it must be external.
