i thought maybe someone here could provide some info or a link to guide me out of a dilema i am having. i picked up one of those digital picture frames for my parents. all in all it is pretty cool but the device automatically stretches the pictures (jpg’s) and movies (mpeg’s) to fit the wide screen format. problem is, every thing gets distorted beyond recognition. mom’s not happy with that…so…
my question, is there a way to re-encode the 3:2 content to wide screen format without “stretching” the image, i.e. add those black side bars. i can handle the pictures (jpg’s) by inserting them on a widescreen template in any simple image editing program. but what about the video (mpeg). is there a program out there that will add the side bars and preserve the original aspect ratio?
