Hi all,

My family has just purchased a 46 inch Samsung LN-T4671F and an Onkyo HT-S907 (B). Now, in our home theater the Cable box, DVD Changer, and Onkyo Audio Receiver are not situated near the TV. The TV is mounted above our fireplace, while the aforementioned components are position on the opposite wall.

Because of this, whenever we want to operate any of these three devices with their respective remotes, we cannot aim the remote at the TV, we have to aim it at the component which is behind the couches.

My question is this: Is there some sort of device (in my mind, a Universal IR Receiver) that we can mount right below the TV that redirects the remotes to their respective component. A device that would allow me to aim the cable box remote at the TV in order to operate the Cable Box.

If I had a universal remote, it would still not fix the problem because I’d still have to aim the remote at the various components.

If this concern/question is unclear, please let me know so I can clarify.

EDIT: I was browsing the web and I found this remote via cnet http://monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=3368

It has this omnilink feature which I think may solve my problem. Could anyone confirm that this would work? The site claims that devices normally operable by IR can be operated via RF with this remote. Am I understanding this correctly?

    Thanks!
