I remember HTPCnews had quite a bit of talk regarding efficient, quiet cpu coolers, but there isn’t much of that here yet. I’m looking at an Intel Core 2 Duo E4500, and haven’t seen a peep about whether I should immediately upgrade the cpu cooler from stock(I’m assuming yes!). This setup will end up in my Origen X11 V1 case, so I have to worry about whether some of these monster coolers will actually fit. My current Zalman CU7400 works well.
