I’m running Media Portal on the Acer Revo R3610. Everything seems to great except for 1080i content. I’m just trying to determine what the issue is. The HTPC is hooked up to a Sony KDL-40ex400.
1080i (live HD TV) seems to flash constantly and is completely unwatchable. I’m thinking this has to do with the fact that it’s a timing issue. My TV says its only capable of 60Hz which isn’t divisible by 24 (24fps being the transmission rate if I’m not mistaken). But my TV also says that its capable of 1080p 24p True Cinema. Does this mean that it can run 24hz refresh rate as well?
Media Portal has an internal refresh rate switcher which I havent used because I’m not really sure what my TV is actually capable of as the whole 60Hz/24P is very confusing to me.
If anyone can enlighten me on this that would be wonderful.
