I’m currently running BeyondTV on my HTPC and I’m thinking about giving SageTV a try. I don’t want to have to uninstall BeyondTV so I have several questions.
1. Can both BeyondTV and SageTV coexist on the same PC?
2. Can I schedule recordings with each PVR app running and not worry about them interfering with each other?
3. If so, would I have to allocate the tuners (I have six total) so only certain ones are available to each program or can they all be shared without interference? In other words, if one tuner is in use with BeyondTV and SageTV tries to use the same tuner, will it know that the tuner is in use and then select another one that’s available or will it try and hijack the tuner being used by BTV?
I’ve got a lot of recordings set up with BeyondTV right now and I don’t want to have to switch everything over since I’ll be using the trial version of SageTV. If I decide to go with SageTV I’ll do a complete reinstall of XP Pro, mainly because I’ve got a glitch in it that’s preventing me from installing SP3.
