Anybody want to offer some clarification on the part quoted from the article regarding audio?

If you are experiencing problems with crackling using spdif, make sure it is enabled, then disable it to fix the problem? I am not sure how that helps with using SPDIF, sort like disabling video out for stuttering.

Seriously though, I do get some crackling when switching from a DD to PCM (I assume PCM) source  using my onboard audio, A8N-SLI.
