I know this isn’t MissingRemote’s specialty, but i figured i’d test the breadth of expertise we have here. I have an iPhone 3g (i know, i know, but an upgrade isn’t in the cards right now).

I have jailbroken the phone fwiw.

I love it, and my must use apps are LockInfo and BiteSMS. Everything else is just extra.

My issue is, i notice the phone runs super short on memory after just a bit of use. I have the app to clear memory, and it helps albeit temporary.

So…anyone know of any magic trick to make this baby run a bit faster? I use my friends iphone 4’s and it’s so fast. I’m not expecting that, but still a bit more!

Can’t help you with your issue, but (sorry, Mike) I really had this video (NSFW-language) going through my mind as I was reading your post.

you could try to update to the newest iOS version, its supposed to help the 3G. and its an old enough phone that the jailbreak works for it no problem.

otherwise, you are kind of out of luck. its a 400Mhz processor trying to run the same OS (almost) as a phones with 50%+ and 100% more processing power.

Hrmmm…..very interesting…i wasn’t aware (and didn’t even think) about updating to the latest iOS 4.2….good suggestion sir! Probably worth a shot, because this is plain miserable! 🙂

so i was at work so i couldn’t do the 4.2 update (it said it would wipe all my info), so i did some other research. Come to find out there was a MUCH newer version of LockInfo that was out. So i upgraded to that version, and then I removed BiteSMS and went back to SMS QuickReply and everything seems to be running fairly peppy! yay!!
