Remember a while back when the Iron Man bluray came out that we got into talking about PowerDVD and TMT and how they were handling audio through SPDIF?  At one time, both were only passing 2.0 sound through SPDIF; previous versions of TMT had been passing the DD 5.1 track.  Below is a quote from me and Matt when both of the players started sending some kind of 5.1 through SPDIF.

So I’m guessing that’s some kind of “false”5.1 then?

No, not exactly. Remember TMT can decode all the formats itself. So what it’s doing is decoding the audio into PCM (raw audio) and then re-encoding it into DTS, much like Dolby Digital Live or DTS Connect does when you have a sound card that supports one of those technologies. So it’s real 5.1, since it decoded the TrueHD track into 5.1 LPCM and then back into 5.1 DTS.”

Is this still true?  I notice that in PDVD 9 that my receiver shows Dolby Digital 5.1 when I play blurays.  Is it playing a “core” DD 5.1 track or is it doing some kind of mixing/decoding thing?  I’m still a little confused on this subject.
