So was borrowing a dvd from a friend to watch, and it was playing weird in SageTV – it was showing up in black and white, but the red color was off-set, like at the top of the screen. Tried it in windows media player and had the same affect. Thought it might be something with the dvd, i put in my copy of casino royale. Same thing, and I’m like WTF??? I had just been watching some sd and hd playback and it was fine (under sage). I then tried Casino Royale in VLC, and it worked, the colors were great but there was some pixilations.
I went into settings on sagetv for dvd, and have it set to VMR9, NVIDIA Video Decoder. So I reinstalled NVIDIA Pure Video – same thing: weird color shift in WMP & Sage, ok in VLC, and in TMT.
So I was looking at the different video decoder options in sage: ArcSoft Video Decoder, Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder, NVIDIA Video Decoder, NVIDIA Video Post Processor, SageTV MPEG Video Decoder.
What’s the difference between the two NVIDIA ones?
I tried
NVIDIA Video Post Processor – works
SageTV MPEG Video Decoder – almost totally locked up sagetv
Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder – color off set
ArcSoft Video Decoder – sound, no color
Default – color off set
I didn’t have this problem before the blu-ray drive, and the ATI 4760 video card.
Is using the Nvidia Video Post Processor ok?
How do I fix Windows Media Player?
Thanks,
Mike
oh ya, I don’t know if it matters, but I also have DVD43 running.
