The HDhomerun gets my vote for HTPC play of the year.
Before the HDhomerun QAM recording in an PVR app was the persuit of the mad men modding their STB, the crazies running firewire with hacked up .dll’s, and the general sadists running linux (;)) But then this company, Silicon Dust, comes out of no where (wtf is the Tivo Turbo Cache?) with so much innovation it made my head spin. (Dual QAM? Stand alone network tuner? Writting their own support for front ends?) Hell, when I bought my HDhomerun, nothing existed but the promise PVR support, but I just considered my money a vote of confidence that this company had the right idea and, as such, my complete support. Now, QAM tuning is so plentiful and works so well that its almost disorienting to think that it was only a year ago this month that it all started.
