This is meant to be a dual purpose discussion. First, I’m looking for input on what hardware/features people look for in a media server to get ideas for myself. Second, I thought this would be a pretty good topic for other people to get ideas and what things to consider.
So, what do people think the “perfect” media server should have? Let’s keep this restricted to current technology that’s available, so, for example, no cable card slots should be listed. Ideally, I’d like to see people list a feature and also why the feel it’s necessary.
I’m going to start another thread for a similar client PC discussion. I’ll list my own ideas as a response to this.
