I have a hard time buying all of this. Toshiba was the primary source of the technology behind HD DVD, they hold the majority of the patents on the physical optical disc part of HD DVD. I have a hard time believing they would totally ditch it. I find it much more plausible that they will announce they aren’t moving HD DVD forward (and thus going Blu-ray), but are still supporting it for the time being by making dual-format players, so as not to leave all their customers shafted.
