I’m slightly surprised that nobody has mentioned the movie yet. I know I’ve been waiting for this movie ever since I saw that first sneak peak.
I grew up in the 80’s, playing with my fairly large inventory of Transformers, so my expectations were pretty high and I was worried about being disappointed. After seeing it… to put it bluntly… it’s AWESOME!!! The story may be a little lacking, but it provides just enough to get the movie rolling and for things to make enough sense that you don’t go, “Huh? How? What?” They’ve definitely left the story somewhat empty so that they have plenty of maneuvering room for the sequel(s). Without giving anything away, Bumblebee absolutely stole the show! And Optimus is a total badass (in a good way)!!!
I read a review that said something to the effect of Transformers is as cutting edge as the original Jurassic Park was. I have to say that I totally agree. The CG work is very believable and you completely forget that these characters were inserted later.
