I have been struggling to set up a media server for my new logitech revue.  I tried the PS3 Media Server but cannot make any files or folders show up once connected.  So I went back to the TVersity server I used to use with my old DSM320.

Once I start Tversity I can see it fine on the host computer.  However, it does not show up in my network at all.  That is until I disable my ATI Digital Cable tuner in the Device Manager.  Instantly TVersity becomes available to all devices on my network.

This seems to be a case of IP address confusion but I am at a loss on how to deal with it.

1- Open Control PanelNetwork and InternetNetwork Connections

2- Hit Alt to show the menu

3- Under Advanced menu hit Advanced Settings

4- Under Connections move the network card that corresponds to the ATI DCT below your real network card (which should be at the top of the list)

      Should work then.

im actually speechless right now that you knew exactly what the odd, very specific problem was that i was having and knew exactly how to fix it.

this revue box is neat for giving me access in my bedroom (where i use an extender) to hbo go, xfinity on demand, and netflix.  I am pretty surprised how well the ir blaster works, since ive always had this awful opinion of them.  i actually prefer using its keyboard to control the tv and extender.

but overall it’s shortcomings are ridiculous.  no dts (decoding or pass thru) and no mpeg2 video (huh?) are kind of unbelievable.  allegedly the coming honeycomb update will fix that but i wont hold my breath.

thanks again for helping me sort that one out.

Glad I could help.  And thanks for inadvertently having me think about trying TVersity Server (I have never used it before).  I picked up a Logitech Revue as well but I haven’t really used it yet, I’ll give TVersity a go and see how the family likes GTV.
