I am selling the existing setup for 100 bucks and the new parts will run me 180. So for 80 bucks additional do you think it is worth it.

I wanted to drop the thermals down and when gaming on the 6000 with a 3870 GPU all the fans went to high. Now I am only dropping from a 125 TDP to 95 but I heard that 95 was kind of on the high side. I am also losing about 400 Mhz. I am hoping the newer architecture makes it a wash atleast. About all I play these days is left for dead. I might still get a 5xxx series GPU for Christmas.

I should have the parts tomorrow and hopefully I won’t have to do a reinstall of everything right off the bat. I’ll update the thred on performance. I think ultimately I need a 60GB SSD for the O.S to get the performance I am looking for.
