I was playing around with Virtual PC 2007 tonight (It’s pretty pathetic that I can only get my integrated Verizon working through an XP virtual machine) and got to thinking…
I know I’m an exception, but I have a 2003 Server that runs Exchange/Domain/DNS/WINS/WSUS, Trend CSM/IIS, and an MCE 2005 server in my house. I have two v1 extenders and 1 360.
Virtual Server 2k7 runs on Vista unlike ESX from VMWare that runs bare metal. So if I could get the hardware going (mostly the tuners), I wonder if could get a Vista Ultimate box running an Server2003/Exchange/etc virtual machine for my server stuff. It would be running Vista natively as a media server. Then if I could get a MCE2005 virtual machine going my v1 extenders would work and tap into the same content/tuners that are actually located on the actual Vista machine.
Maybe I’m just bored…
