    Just curious…..

I am running vista with a x1950pro Cat driver 7.8 and tried both the default MS decoders and PowerDVD 7
(both seem to be running HW accel, Overlay mode)

in both I am noticing that many objects seem pixelated, especially chroma rich stuff….

    For example

Finding Nemo the fish and plants look kinda pixelated around the edges

Blade 2 end credits, the text is red and looks pixelated

The Incredibles, charecters look pixelated when in the red uniforms….

I tried to grab some screen captures but apparently Vista runs in Overlay as the screen grabs were black.

At first I thought well maybe this is because I was so used to watching DVDs in ZoomPlayer using FFDshow and The PureVideo Decoders in XP MCE 2005…. But then I decided well let’s look. So I popped my hard drive back in that had my MCE 2005 install, loaded up the same movies (using MCE 2005 DVD player and PureVideo decoders set to VMR9 HW Accel) and I didn’t notice the problem.

I thought back and thought I remembered chaning somehting to YV12 in my 2005 install but can’t rememebr for the life of me what it was.

    Anyone else notice this?
