I need to upgrade as my four 1TB Western Digital Caviar Green Sata internal drives just aren’t cutting it. I just don’t have enough space for all of my ripped movies.
For 2TB Sata hard drives, there’s only so many choices. I want to stay away from Seagate with all the problems they’ve had on some drives. I haven’t had a problem with my 1TB WD’s, but I haven’t exactly used them a lot.
I’m not so worried about speed, only in order of preference: dependability, cost, noise, power usage.

The Hitachi’s look tempting at the low price of $149.99, but I’m leaning toward the WD for $179.99. Are the faster 7200 RPM Hitachi’s alright, or should I stick with the Green WD? What about the AV-GP WD for $189.99 which states it’s made for long term durability in PVR’s and such.
