I’m getting an occasional stutter when watching BDs on my HD200.
Even though I have my other two recording drives separate from the drive pool, does WHS buffer any data on the WHS partition? Because if I was recording a lot of HD shows (I record a lot at once) then the slow WD green drive that contains the WHS partion would be buffering that data before it gets written to the final drives. In this case, the WD green drive can’t keep up and stutters once in awhile.
The BDs are stored on my shared drives without folder duplication. The shared drives consist of one Seagate 750GB drive and one WD Green 1TB drive. All other recording (4 HD streams) is done to 2X seagate 1TB drives (64K cluster) not in the drive pool.
WHS is an Athlon X2 4800+ 2GB ram GB ethernet
The stuttering happens every once in awhile during a BD movie on the HD200. two or three times a movie. Rewinding plays the section just fine, indicating that it is a playback issue.
I think it is related to the Harddrive access time. The WHS partition is on the slower WD green drive. The BD is stored on those shared drives without folder duplication.
