Anyone have an opinion (I jest, of course) on whether 64 bit is okay for HTPCs yet? I’m running the 64 bit RC on my main PC and am quite happy with it. The only 64 bit barrier I ran into was that flash won’t work in a 64 bit browser. For an HTPC without a tuner, are there any barriers that people know of at the moment? Will 32 bit codecs be an issue? Will too much memory cause issues with anything that’s 32 bit?
Then, of course, is there even a reason to go to 64 bit on a client HTPC like this? Other than the additional memory, I’m not sure there is. And, if the programs can’t use the additional memory, that “benefit” is lost anyhow.
With the recent influx of Windows 7 posts, I thought starting a meaningful discussion might be helpful.
